Books of '25: set at a boarding school during WWII, the book explores themes of friendship, identity, and rivalry. I found myself reflecting on the idea of the bubble that separates adolescent life from the worries of adulthood over the last two nights of reading.

Gathering to remember, honor, & celebrate the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. under the theme "Democracy Matters Moving Forward with Fortitude, Not Turning Back". I appreciate the reminder this is a day on, not a day off - we are all responsible for keeping the dream alive.

Holy Cross was well represented this morning at the annual MLK Community Breakfast Celebration. It was great to share time with so many local leaders and help current students both see and get connected with local efforts to realize MLK's dream.

Books of '25 - A Midwest music critic examines how BitUSA impacted music, culture, politics, etc. LIVE '75 - '85 first drew my attention to @springsteen and the E Street sound (Because the Night guitars hooked me right away). Great read for music lovers & Springsteen fans! 10/10

A goal for 2025 is to learn more about the life of St. Brother Andre Bessette, & today is his feast day. As I was reminded of this, I looked down at my watch to see this photo (taken at St. Peter's Pub). St. Br. Andre, pray for us.

Books of '25: James a novel from the perspective of Jim from The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. It's interesting to revisit a well-known story through another characters eyes, thoughts, and words.

The other day, I told Kate about #geocaching. Today, we found our first microcache. We saw about 25 deer and really enjoyed our time outside as the snow fell.

Books of 24: Localism. Short essays by different authors examining GK Chesterton, Catholic Social Teaching, Distributism - good things happen when we know our neighbors & make efforts to keep money local. I've had a few good conversations about the essays w/friends & colleagues.

Starting to say goodbye to 2024 with a visit to @SBBrewWerks. I've had some of the best conversations and productive meetings of 2024. Made all the better by the great tasting beers, wonderful staff, and tasty menu. Looking forward to more in 2025. Cheers!
