Topic: Missing person - Skye Ethan Wilkins Date: Feb 10, 2025 The Gwinnett County Police Department is seeking assistance from the public in locating a 32-year-old man from the area of Egypt Road in unincorporated Snellville. On the evening of February 7, the family of Skye Ethan Wilkins contacted 911 to report him missing. They expressed concerns regarding his manner of speech and indicated that he may require medical attention. Wilkins is described as a white male, five foot six inches tall, and weighs approximately 140 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes and was last seen wearing a black and red plaid shirt, green pants, and a black backpack. The last known voice contact with Wilkins was on February 6. In response, the Gwinnett County Police Aviation Unit was deployed to conduct an aerial search at two separate locations. Additionally, officers canvassed the surrounding area and reviewed security footage from nearby cameras. Anyone who sees Skye Ethan Wilkins is urged to contact 911.

Title: Gwinnett Police vehicle involved in single car collision involving pedestrian Date: February 10, 2025 Georgia State Patrol is investigation a single vehicle collision, involving a Gwinnett County police vehicle, that resulted in the death of a male pedestrian. Shortly before 1:00a.m., an officer assigned to our West Precinct notified radio dispatch that he was involved in a collision with a pedestrian. The incident occurred on Beaver Ruin Road near Interstate 85. As the officer drove east on Beaver Ruin Road, the pedestrian suddenly began crossing the roadway outside of the crosswalk. Officers responded quickly to render aid to the male. The male was then transported by the Gwinnett County Fire Services paramedics where he ultimately succumbed to his injuries. Due to the nature of the collision, Georgia State Patrol was on the scene conducting the investigation, with the assistance of the Gwinnett County Police Accident Investigation Unit. The on-scene investigation has since concluded so morning traffic will not be affected by this incident. Although the roadway has been reopened, Georgia State Patrol is still conducting their investigation. The name of the deceased is being withheld until the next of kin can be properly notified. Title: Detectives investigating homicide and person shot at 1800 Ardsley Place Date: February 8, 2025 The Gwinnett County Police department is investigating a shooting that resulted in one male shot and a deceased female. Just after 10:00a.m., officers assigned to our West Precinct responded to a report of a person shot in the area of 1800 Ardsley Place. As officers arrived on scene, they discovered one male suffering from a gunshot wound. The male was then transported to the hospital for his wound. Officers were then directed to an apartment where the incident occurred. Once officers arrived at the apartment, they discovered a deceased female. This appears to be an isolated domestic event. Citizens do not need to be concerned about an on-going threat. The scene was secured, and investigators from our Homicide Unit responded along with our Crime Scene Unit. The victim’s identification is being withheld until the next of kin has been notified. This incident is being actively investigated by GCPD detectives. The two men began throwing items in a shopping cart but were stopped at the check out by loss prevention. They left the store without any merchandise. The victim was withdrawing money from the ATM when the suspect approached her and pointed a gun at her. The suspect attempted to snatch the victim's purse but was unsuccessful. News Release: Armed Robbery Suspect in Custody The Gwinnett County Police Department arrested Samuel Norman in connection with a robbery that occurred on January 27 at a local business in Buford. On January 27, officers responded to a 911 call near the 2600 block of Buford Drive in Buford. When officers arrived, they met with the victim, who stated that the suspect approached the counter and presented a firearm. He demanded the cash from the register and fled the scene on foot. Responding officers canvassed the area but were unable to locate the suspect at that time. The case was assigned to detectives. On February 4, detectives, with the assistance from several specialized units, were able to review video and used other investigative tools to identify the suspect. A detective canvassed the area to speak with residents to obtain additional leads when he recognized the suspect leaving a residence. Officers approached the male, Samuel Norman (Buford, 26) and arrested him. Norman was charged with Armed Robbery, Aggravated Assault and Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony. He is currently booked in the Gwinnett County Jail.

Once selected, they attend a month-long handler school in North Carolina to train with their new K9 partner. ✔️ Training Period: After graduating from handler school, handlers and their K9s complete a 28-day Field Training Officer period under a certified unit trainer, focusing on daily exercises to meet department standards. ✔️ Dog Selection: K9s are chosen by a Unit Trainer and Supervisor, trained by the vendor for up to three months to meet department requirements, and paired with a handler. ✔️ Ongoing Certification: Both handler and K9 are evaluated twice a year through certification processes and train daily throughout their careers. The bond between our K9s and handlers is unbreakable ensuring they are always ready to serve and protect.
