@Tommy_USA Not all of us can afford to hire lobbyists. Some of us still have to show up for ourselves.

@Tommy_USA The same measures used to determine public school education proficiency isn’t used to determine any other schooling proficiency… wtf are you comparing it to?

@RealBPhil How do you determine educational outcomes? A standardized test? Should we make all students who receive tax payer dollars take the same test?

I couldn’t care less about “losing students”. I’m concerned about subsidizing private schools with tax payer dollars, thru the creation of more government to govern the program. I’m concerned about giving tax money to private schools that don’t have to adhere to the same rules that public schools have to in order to receive the SAME money. I’m concerned about the lack of accountability tied to the money in general. I have a list of concerns and they are ALL conservative af.

@mearmstrong77 @RealBPhil Tax dollars are to fund public schools as it states in article 7 of the Texas constitution. Not 1 private school in my tri-county area has a special needs department. Who are these vouchers for because they damn sure aren’t for everyone.

@mearmstrong77 @RealBPhil They are not the state nor federal government, they are our LOCAL government. And kids can currently choose to go wherever they want, no one forces a child to stay in Texas, they can choose any school.

@mearmstrong77 @RealBPhil Rest assured, our local school board is not the government. & they run our public school soooooo…… And real accountability?!? What’s next, universal basic income?

@mearmstrong77 @RealBPhil No, I want local property tax dollars supporting a local PUBLIC school district, managed by an ELECTED school board, NOT a privately owned school with acceptance limitations, no special ed department, no standardized method of calculating success, & zero accountability.

$15-$25million would rebuild almost any small town water plant. $50-60m and most small towns could have new piping too. How much will we spend on vouchers?
The most critical of all infrastructure issues, WATER, should not have to compete for funding with a multi-billion dollar voucher entitlement program, now or in the future.
