“…and as long as [Uzziah] sought the Lord, God made him to prosper.” “But when he was strong his heart was lifted up, to his destruction, for he transgressed against the Lord his God…” 2 Chron. 26:5,16

@RickWarren Thank you @RickWarren, for this perfect example of EISEGESIS. “Eisegesis” is the practice of interpreting a text by imposing one's own ideas, biases, or agendas onto it. It's also known as "reading into the text.” If you’re a preacher, please don’t do this to the Word of God.

The extreme majority of pastors today are faithful, trustworthy, godly leaders whose competencies could of given them lucrative careers in business & corporate world. Instead they said “yes” to the call of God. They chose modest livings & humble means to serve the local church.

The Apostle Paul said “When I became a man I put away childish things.” To be a man means no more: Pouting 😠 People pleasing Need for approval Emotional outbursts Being easily offended Uncontrolled sexual lust Grumbling & complaining Laziness & a poor work ethic What else?

Pastors, preach the text & let the text preach itself. Far too many pastors posing as self help gurus & motivational speakers. We are entering a new era in the church. People are hungry for the Word, they want pastors who exegete Scripture, not hyped up motivational happy talk.

Anything done in the flesh has no lasting value. We can fill buildings & bring crowds, but this world doesn’t need another show or dazzling human. We need a man or woman on fire, who brings God's presence into the room & preaches the Word with unction. We need the Holy Spirit.

@RealPaulCortese Have the difficult conversation and be specific about how you know one has undermined the leader. Stay humble, be teachable, but be firm and resolute with what you know is the right decision.

DISTRACTION. As long as your eyes are on Christ and you’re in God’s will, the enemy has no power or authority over you...NONE! But if the enemy can divert your attention & attract you to things out of God’s will, he can capture your thoughts, pull you astray, and control you.

You’ll try to be faithful, but you’ll fail Him. You’ll make promises and you’ll break them. But He’ll still be there. He said I’ll never leave you, never forsake you He’s the God of another chance His mercies are new every day His compassion never fails Great is His faithfulness

Pastors: if people want to leave, let them go. Don’t beg them to stay, or bargain for their loyalty, or promise you’ll do better and live up to their expectations. Never hold onto people who are letting go of you. It cheapens your value and demeans your worth. LET THEM GO!
