There'll be snide comments about celebrating like they won the league blah blah but after 22 years they should fall on deaf ears. It WAS a huge win. Does it suddenly transform #EFC into a title contending city-dominating super-club? No. But it's a long overdue step forward.

#Everton worked with the PL to ensure all dealings were FFP compliant when it was clear they were close to breach. Everything was done with PL scrutiny. That same organisation have now approved head spinning disproportionate penalty arguably as political tool to avoid regulation.

#EFC fans in the away end applauding the players for a hard-fought and brave performance. They got nothing for it and they weren't expected to beforehand but there was no capitulation. Maybe on another day (at another stadium) Gordon gets a pen and other decisions go their way.

Phil Jagielka was always one of those players who fronted up in the bad times as well as good. Honest, friendly, no ego. In his prime, with that recovery pace and reading of the game he was a fantastic central defender. Wish him well with whatever comes next!.

Luke Matheson is 15 & only started back at school yest after summer hols. Last night he had to come on for Rochdale at right-back after 15 mins as they beat Bury 2-1. Won MOTM & left seasoned obsevers shaking their heads at how astonishingly good he was. Big future 👌🏽⚽️

Alex Iwobi won 100% of his duels and completed 100% of his take-ons in the first half vs. Nottingham Forest:. 4/4 duels won .2/2 take-ons completed . He also won possession more times than any other player (11). ⚔️
