@academic_la @Google An internationally recognized day for historical commemoration, which was proposed 25 yrs ago by a coalition of over 30 countries (not including Israel, by the way) and sanctioned by the UN in 2006, is hardly a matter of inclusive employment policies.

@academic_la Ok I agree with that. And I suspect it will be salvaged. But Israel isn't preventing that. BN statement today specified he expects only phase 1 hostages to be released, not all hostages, as per DT. That's a reasonable position.

@academic_la Today on Mosaic for instance a proposal to create housing and support in the Sinai. Yes it would require Egyptian cooperation. But let's be serious about the reality. No one will lay for reconstruction when Hms will control the money and DPs control the building sites.

@academic_la I distrust Trump of course. But it's also not at all unprecedented that DPs who cannot return home seek and receive shelter and support elsewhere. Thats the history of the end of almost every war in the modern era.

@academic_la But Hamas is not fulfilling the 1st phase, right? You do seem to get into these moods whereby everything is Israel's fault and I don't understand that.

@academic_la Also in the interest of intellectual honesty over polemic, why do you insist that Trump is prima facie proposing ethnic cleansing? Are we mistaken in not seeing that Gazans ought to have an option other than living over Hamas tunnels in an unreconstructed war zone?

@HowidyHamza Now wait. You are upset about statements. But the terms of the deal are clear and Israel has met its commitments. The terrorist entity now either meets its or there is no ceasefire. Blaming BN for Hms refusal to release hostages is illogical and unworthy of you.

@sfrantzman Is there any validity to the view that there is now a discussion of doing something you have long suggested, filtering out civilians from the war zone and thereby removing one of the terrorist entity's clear strategic advantages?

@TreyYingst You have a point but you also know this is misleading. Its a "children's coloring book" that encourages "intifadah" and is entitled "From the River to the Sea." A raid was performative and likely unnecessary, but there is a serious problem.

@academic_la Fair enough. But then again isn't US public opinion the only theater that really matters to Hms and Qatar?
