REAL LIFE HERO: GPD Officer Shultz rescues a dog from the flood water off Dunbrook Drive. The dog, a small pit bull, was tied to a fence and was just inches from drowning. He is safe from harm now and Animal Protective Services will be conducting a follow up investigation.

The officer who was shot last night while bravely responding to a domestic disturbance is Ofc. Jeremiah Lovelace, an 8-year GPD veteran. We are happy to report Officer Lovelace is recovering at home. He is doing well, all things considered, and very thankful to be alive.
