I am all for plastic straws, keeping men out of womens sports and renaming the Gulf of Mexico… but imho #cannabis reform is more important and should rank higher on @realDonaldTrump “to do” list - the economic impact is much more significant..

@GoldIRAChannel Likely years away but ultimately, a listing on the CME. Many CPG companies hedge exposure to price risk and I suspect similar strategies will be implemented when cannabis becomes a part of the mix. Much has to happen beforehand though.

This proposed piece of legislation lacks common sense. Do the math. Once prohibition ends (de-scheduled), the Treasury can replace lost 280E revenues with a federal excise tax, which, in reality, will vastly exceed current 280E collections. Assume a ∼$100B industry at maturity = ∼$8B / year to the Treasury (8% excise tax) paid in its entirety (generally speaking) from retail sales (chart illustrates 280E as % total revs )/
