The Design for Life Roadmap launched today by the UK Government will be a great help in making healthcare more environmentally sustainable. It looks at reducing single use items, which are a huge environmental and financial waste.
RCEM welcomes the UK Government’s new strategy to significantly reduce the number of single-use medical devices in the NHS, called the Design for Life Roadmap. This mirrors the work of RCEM’s @GreenED_uk initiative, which measures and reduces the environmental impact of Emergency Departments in the UK, thus driving environmentally sustainable practices within the specialty of Emergency Medicine.
