@TonawandaCSD Peter Kuehne coached boys soccer for Grand Island Central Schools from 1986 to 2009. He was named Niagara Frontier League Coach of the Year in 1998. In 2018, he was named the Niagara Frontier League Cornerstone Award recipient of GI for his lifetime contributions to GI soccer.

Amanda Lawrence, a senior at GIHS, is currently enrolled in the Advanced Placement class working on her college portfolio for college credit. Named as a GICSD Artist of the month, she has a piece of her work submitted in the UB spring exhibition in March.

Nicholas Carey and Natalie Turck, GIHS AP Statistics students, earned a 1st place overall in the UB Statistics competition. Students collected, analyzed, and presented data to judges. Third place overall team of Kassidy Taylor, Brady Hofmeyer, Christian Whetham and Will Soos.

Eighth-grader Aiden Hermanson has won the Buffalo Museum of Science Solution to Plastic Pollution Art Project Competition 2019. Aiden was one of 16 winners, chosen from a field of over 40 schools spanning MS to HS. His work is on display at the science museum on May 15.

WOW! What can we say to our friends @NWCSDathletics but THANK YOU!!? The Falcons-Vikings matchup for the 2019 Hoops for Hope game honored a friend close to each school’s heart – Julie Neville. NWCSD raised over $3,500 for the Neville Family Education Fund. GI's game is Feb. 1.
