I'm always grateful whenever I reflect on the past and see how my soul thrives now 🤎 “Because If He had let me stay in what I thought I wanted, I would never experience what I have now, and that's the miracle.”

@zaza_the_great No. Ideally, a lemma doesn't require proof when stated cos it is a “proven statement” that is used to prove other theorems (or results). So, I stated it as a lemma cos I wanted to use that statement to explain (read: prove) the calculation in the initial tweet.

@framzyjr Yeah, I figured. Although my focus was on the calculation of how UTC+/- X came to be, and some parts of the second tweet are missing, I agree that it could have been more detailed—starting from the very basics.

How the lemma was deduced:

The Earth completes one full rotation (360 degrees) in 24 hours (1440 minutes) Dividing 1,440 minutes by 360 degrees gives 4 minutes per degree of longitude. It means that as you move east or west by 1 of longitude, the local solar time shifts by 4 minutes.

@ayama_choosen @raines_ava49487 Haaaa, I do quite understand your perspective, but longitude and latitude are quite layered, which is why I just stated the Lemma to walk through the explanation.

@raines_ava49487 Okay, Longitude speaks to time while Latitude speaks to distance. So it doesn’t play out in this conversation.
