I don't think the team at the BBC realise just how much of a positive potential impact the showing of the games on BBC 2 will have on Gaelic Games in Britain. I had quite a few messages from British people here watching the game just because it was on TV & being very impressed!

I am a huge advocate for the tactical game, but these are 17 year olds, let them loose for god's sake!
Huge win for the Convent over neighbours St Pat's Maghera. Conall Higgins with 1-2 in the second half even though he had the brilliant Fionn McEldowney for company. Tough to look at the style of the game, very slow and laboured spells throughout, but the Convent don't care

Overseas GAA is a different beast. You have to work very hard to recruit players, a lot have no GAA background and have to be taught from scratch. The travel involved is insane & at your own expense, but the reward is unreal. My best memories have nothing to do with winning.

Words cannot describe how shocked and saddened I am to read this news. Donal was a complete and utter gentleman, a true Watty to his very core. I was lucky enough to have many chats and conversations with him about Glen.
Sincere condolences to his family, friends & club mates 💔
Winning the All-Ireland and welcoming the Andy Merrigan Cup to Glen was the culmination of decades of devotion by Donal Convery to his beloved Watty Grahams. We owe Donal so much and we will never forget. Rest easy dear friend, you’re an All-Ireland champion.
