Thx to a grant, the GFD equipped all 9 engines & 3 trucks with Fire Blankets. The GFD & Hollywood Burbank Airport Fire Department are the only agencies, in the area, to have such resources. They will be used on Electric or Hybrid Vehicle fires. Recently, all crews were trained

Crews battled a two alarm fire at a single-family dwelling on the 1100 block of E. California Avenue. Upon arrival, firefighters observed flames and heavy smoke shooting through the roof. A full investigation will be conducted. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.

Cooper and his handler, Verdugo Fire Communications dispatcher Korin Peltier, are at base camp of the Palisades Fire. As a Certified Wellness Canine, Cooper’s job is to provide comfort, smiles, love, peace, & mental health support to our heroes. Way to go, Cooper! 🚒🐾❤️
