@AzorInfo @Noahpinion No, it was real, one of the first skirmishes of the modern culture wars, and it radicalized a significant swath of young men. These kinds of battles are happening everywhere now: movies, comic books, sci-fi fiction, etc., but gaming was one of the first battlegrounds.

But it's never really been that way. Even 20-30 years ago you would have been let go from any respectable job if you were discovered to be a neonazi/KKK or if you were pro-pedo (see nambla). I think what changed under the woke regime is that they tried to push the Overton window far to the left. They tried to make mildly offensive opinions worthy of total social ostracism.
