The issue with passkeys, as much as I like them, is that by design they are tied to a URL. While this design is useful for protecting against phishing attacks, it introduces a critical problem: centralization. If Amanu’s URL were ever confiscated or shut down by a government,

This is a great demonstration of how far we still are from making crypto payments a seamless reality. The process needs to be as quick and intuitive as a credit card tap or Apple Pay — right now, it’s still too slow and unreliable and over 2 minutes. There’s a lot of work ahead

You generate some when you know you go in a country where you’ll have no connection. Arrive in the country buy a SIM card by double clicking to reveal Apple wallet, show your pass with the QR code the merchant with WiFi
