The very first story I reported for

. We were both so much younger that day I interviewed him in prison but his story has always stuck with me - haunted me really - as an example of just how unjust this world can be. And how important it is that injustice be exposed.
Today in 1992, David Milgaard is released from prison after spending 23 years there for a crime he didn't commit.
In 1997, DNA evidence confirms he was innocent.
He spends the rest of his life as a community support worker in Alberta before passing away in May 2022.
