So folks, some news: after more than 30 years today is my last at the CBC. Mountains of gratitude to colleagues, mentors, audiences (both TV and radio) and especially the many, many over the years who trusted me to tell their stories. It was a privilege and an honour. ❤️
not seeing a lot of CBC peeps here so on behalf of many let me say: whatever the terms of her exit Wendy blazed a trail that countless smart, young women are now on. they’ll have to work hard to match her tenacity and her wit.

. We were both so much younger that day I interviewed him in prison but his story has always stuck with me - haunted me really - as an example of just how unjust this world can be. And how important it is that injustice be exposed.
Today in 1992, David Milgaard is released from prison after spending 23 years there for a crime he didn't commit.
In 1997, DNA evidence confirms he was innocent.
He spends the rest of his life as a community support worker in Alberta before passing away in May 2022.

But I was told that paying people a living wage would make burgers cost $20?

One of the greatest CBC radio documentary makers and foreign editor was Michael Finlay. He was the victim of a random attack on the streets of Toronto in mid-afternoon a week ago. Michael died in hospital tonight. His perp has not been apprehended.
The RCMP maintain it only confirmed who the gunman was and the fact he was driving a fully marked replica police cruiser early the next morning. By that point 13 people were dead. But we learned of a witness who suggests that may not be true. 4/8
