Sound designers, editors & re-recording mixers are really “sound collage illusionists”. We take audio from different sources, timeframes, geographical locations, weave them together in seamless ways & create new sonic tapestries to tell stories

@helenlynchmusic @PADournel A remote loop group mixer would be someone who can record voice actors on location or outside of a traditional studio. It could also be someone who can record voice actors all together from their WFH set ups

Sometimes the real, authentic sound for an animal or object isn’t right for the story. As sound designers, we strive to find sounds that are emotionally compelling. This is a great example of that principle from FLOW
Our sound designer Gurwal, just sent me a clip of the real capybara voice. I think that we made the right call to use a baby camel voice instead.

@jbrizzle92 I’d love to get involved with Meow Wolf, but there other kinds of interactive spaces like escape rooms. Seems like there is a need for quality sonic storytelling outside of film, TV, live theater and video games. Just curious where those clients go for sound work

@rbripley Yep… me too. I remember selling frozen pizzas which was a terrible idea. If the people weren’t home when you delivered them, then you had to keep them in your home freezer until later
