People saying it is a matter of acting, the other thing to remember is that we deserve the money from telling our stories authentically, too. Lots of trans folks are poorer than our peers because of historic discrimination, so there's been no buildup, just the occasional spark.
Trans roles should always be portrayed by trans actors.

That is one of the biggest aspects of representative casting that is overlooked: that many trans folks are considered unviable for cis roles, particularly gender-affirming ones, and then they can't even get the chance to be paid for roles that are their stories to tell.
