Kobena Sekyi, he was the only educated elite in Africa who vowed never to wear European clothing again and became the first lawyer in the British colony (Gold coast) to appear in court in a traditional African cloth. He never wore European dress again until he died in 1956.

David Kotei (D.K poison), the first Ghanaian professional boxer to win a world title in 1975. In 1976, he loaned an amount of $45,000 to Ghana to purchase canned  mackerel to mitigate the harsh economic and food conditions of the country. The loan has not been paid back to date.

Salifu Dagarti was born in July, 1913. He was enlisted in the Gold Coast Police at age 17 and rose through the ranks to chief Superintendent in 1960. In 1964, He met his untimely death by taking a bullet that was meant to kill Kwame Nkrumah during an assassination attempt.

Takyi was a Fanti king from Gold Coast. He was captured during the Kommender Wars & sold off into slavery in Jamaica when his state was defeated. He led a slave rebellion in Jamaica in 1760 Known as Tacky’s War to defeat the British and all slave masters.

Legendary Baba Yara (Usmanu Seidu Maada) nicknamed “King of Wingers” was a Ghanaian footballer. In six years, Baba Yara scored more than 90 goals for Kotoko and Scored 49 goals in only 51 appearances for the black Stars. He died at the age of only 32.

Dr. Kwame Nkrumah's "Letter of consolation" he wrote to Dr. Kofi Abrefa Busia three days after his overthrow on January 13, 1972. Kwame Nkrumah was overthrown on February 24, 1966. In 1969, Dr. Kofi Abrefa Busia, who was an Nkrumah critic, became Prime Minister of Ghana.

Kwame Akoto-Bamfo, He is a Ghanaian sculptor. His outdoor sculpture dedicated to the memory of the victims of the Transatlantic slave trade is on display at the National Memorial for Peace and Justice that opened in 2018 in Montgomery, Alabama.

Colonel Ignatius Acheampong was treated to a last dinner of fufu brought to him by his 25-year-old daughter Elizabeth Acheampong the night before he was executed by a firing squad in 1979. His last words to her daughter were “Tell everybody I was a good man and pray for me.”

Melody Millicent Danquah (6 January 1937 – 18 March 2016), born in Larteh Akuapem. She was Ghana's 1st Female Pilot and Squadron Leader. She was the first to fly solo, and first to finish in her class in 1964. She received her Wings qualifying her as a pilot in 1965

Manuel Junior Agogo , born on 1st August 1979. He was a Ghanaian former professional footballer who played as a striker. He was hospitalized in 2015 after suffering stroke which debilitated him. He is reported dead Today at age 40 according to reports in England.
