⚠️ #BREAKING Google’s New Quantum Computing Chip Willow is described as a state-of-the-art quantum chip that represents significant progress in quantum computing. It's designed to tackle challenges in error correction, which is crucial for scaling quantum systems. One of the major achievements with Willow is its capability for "exponential error reduction." As the number of qubits increases, the error rate decreases, which is contrary to the common issue in quantum computing where errors typically increase with scale. Google claims that Willow can perform a computation in under five minutes that would take one of today's fastest supercomputers 10 septillion years (10^25 years) to complete, using the Random Circuit Sampling (RCS) benchmark. This benchmark is considered the hardest for classical computers in quantum computing contexts. Willow features 105 qubits, emphasizing quality over quantity. Google has focused on improving the quality of qubits rather than just increasing their number, which is essential for maintaining low error rates as the system scales.

⚠️ #BREAKING Luigi Mangione, identified as the suspect in the UHC CEO shooting, has reportedly scheduled videos to appear on his YouTube channel following his arrest. One such video contains the message, "If you see this, I’m already under arrest." It further states, "All is scheduled, be patient. Bye for now," with a date stamp of December 11th visible. Given his background as a tech student at the University of Pennsylvania, it's conceivable that he programmed these videos to upload automatically during his arrest. Authorities found him in possession of a laptop.

⚠️ # BREAKING The jury in the Daniel Penny trial has informed the judge they are in a deadlock. In the ongoing trial where Daniel Penny, a former Marine, faces charges for the alleged manslaughter of subway performer Jordan Neely via a chokehold last year, the jury has indicated they cannot come to a unanimous decision on the charge of manslaughter. Despite now being on their fourth day of deliberations, they must resolve this charge before moving on to consider the lesser offense of criminally negligent homicide. Whether the judge will direct them to keep deliberating on the manslaughter charge remains to be seen.
