Mississippi hoops lost its best friend today with the death of scout Gerald Snider. He was a huge MLB and Cards fan and had been to nearly all the MLB parks. R.I.P. to the man who call everybody “friend”

Last night’s 27-0 Class 2A playoff loss to Lake signaled the end of East Union running back Joel Wilkinson’s career. In 4 years he has rushed for 6,215 yards and 76 TDs. In my 40-plus years of covering prep football, I’ve never seen a tougher player.

Ingomar’s Kelon Hall was named Div. 1-2A Player of the Year by the coaches. He averaged 4.4 ppg, 3.3 rpg.
They also know he took 34 charges, had 120-plus deflections. I saw him hold 2 of the state’s top shooters under their scoring averages in 4 games.
