Here we have Labour ministers haggling over *£12m* to bring jobs and investment while bending over backwards to double their *£9bn* offer to surrender overseas territory. They are completely out of their depth.
The inside story of this Govts failure to clinch £450mn AstraZeneca deal via @FT Having agreed £90 million in subsidies Labour offers an insulting £40 million, then goes back with £78 million. We lose the deal as a country over £12 million niggling.

Labour promised growth, but the Bank of England’s verdict today is that this Government is failing to deliver. Inflation has not gone away, and this decision has clearly been driven by serious concerns about Labour’s dire economic performance. We are heading for stagflation.
The Monetary Policy Committee voted by a majority of 7-2 to reduce #BankRate to 4.5%. Find out more in our #MonetaryPolicyReport

Total hypocrites.
Watch this clip of Rachel Reeves about Tory ministers and private jets then clock that Labour ministers have spent over £2m on private jets in six months. I’m actually in favour of hard-working ministers being given the best possible transport facilities. But her hypocrisy is sickening.

This just shows how little Labour understands about business. It is not the government who is paying the wages, its businesses - who are also now being hit with huge increases in tax thanks to the NICs rise & threshold increase, as well as the cut to business rates relief!
We are acting to give millions of workers a pay rise. We promised to Make Work Pay and improve living standards across the country, and we are doing exactly that.

Remarkable given that this will cost the taxpayer over £8bn. Labour have chosen to fund this pet project that won’t reduce bills, won’t produce any energy nor create anything like the number of jobs they said it would.
🚨 New GB Energy Boss admits only 200-300 jobs to be created in next five years. 🚨 The pledge of "1000 jobs" could be 20 years away. 🚨 Says it's not the job of GB Energy to work out when people will see £300 reduction in Bills. 🤷♂️ Well, at least the honesty is refreshing!

Earlier this week the Chancellor re-announced a Moderna vaccine plant secured under the last @Conservatives government. Meanwhile, under her watch, the Treasury has dropped the ball spectacularly - wrecking £450m of investment we lined up for the North of England. It could not be clearer: the Chancellor is the biggest obstacle to growth right now.
AstraZeneca abandons plans to invest £450 million in a UK vaccine manufacturing plant, following protracted wrangling with the new Labour government over the level of state funding for the site

Very sorry to hear of the passing of my predecessor, Quentin Davies. Through his 36 years as a Lincolnshire Member of Parliament, a Minister, and his previous career in the Foreign Office - much of his life was spent in public service. My thoughts are with his family at this time.

Government’s don’t create economic growth, businesses do. Implementing pro-growth deregulatory measures while at the same time introducing anti-growth taxation does not help achieve overall growth for the UK economy. That’s why the OBR have downgraded growth expectations since Labour took office.
