It’s deadly serious. My high school boyfriend was drafted during Vietnam but enlisted in Navy for 8 years. Didn’t go to Nam. We got married and decades later he saw a typo in his new resume that said Vietnam Vet. He was furious and made them correct it to Vietnam Era Vet.
