@VGMaps Also yeah, with GB Studio giving people the access to make legit Game Boy games, and the likes of Shovel Knight and the low poly indie retro scene in general. There'll always be fans who continue making games for old systems / giant influences of them. The torch remains lit!

@VGMaps Agreed, the PS1 gave pixel artists a home over the N64 and the GBA and DS gave them further room to still working. With the 3DS ended, and the switch(2) being the endall be all...I do worry. Does the future still have room for the oracles, minish caps and such?

@VGMaps Yeah it really goes to show how much games were 100% designed around the systems and how that informed the game design. The sacrifices to make when going from one system to another, and the SNES and GBA were closer than many! Not to mention the palette changes in many of them.

@VGMaps Aye, there's a version of FF5 with the SNES music patched in which is nice. I think the GBA was a good handheld SNES with its own flavour and restrictions. Smaller resolutions are always good for pixel art/really inform what you can do.

@VGMaps @Starscream171 I'm just thankful it had L and R buttons haha! For resolution stuff, I think the main 2 things were providing a new system for devs to use, and also compatibility with GB/C games. Also yeah I think Nintendo definitely wanted new and exciting games for the GBA, not just ports.

@Starscream171 Yeah! I loved the games got ported to GBA, so many snes devs/games got to continue working due to the GBA, was really cool.

@FeatureKreep Thanks mate! Was fun to do a childhood favourite, also fun to learn the game had 7 artists! Pixel art is truly so accessible today.
