See this girl in the picture below??? She just became

Knee mottling should get ur attention, here is why: mottling score (0=no mottling, 1=coin size, 2=superior edge of the knee cap, 3=middle thigh, 4=groin fold and 5=anything higher than the groin fold) at 6 h was predictive of 14 day ICU mortality

Left Brasil to follow my dreams, finished residency (again!) and two fellowships and got my dream job where I work with amazing people and have the privilege to take care of patients! I also made many great friends! I just want the next 10 years to be as memorable!
This was a tough year for me, I got a leadership position that I wanted, but didn’t feel ready for. The people in this picture are some of those who rallied behind me and made the team extremely successful! And tonight we celebrated. My ❤️ is full of gratitude

I look for contacts consistently. And ask about tampons in patients who are still at the age of having periods. Do
#1
because I wear contacts myself and it is one of my biggest fears, and
#2
because I diagnosed toxic shock syndrome back in residency by looking for a tampon.

A few weeks ago I was reminded of an important lesson: always take your patients’ heritage into consideration when counseling them. Had a pt with ESLD in the ICU who went into septic shock pretty quickly. And died.
Mottling score was predictive of mortality regardless of vasopressor dose needed. It was also associated with lactate levels and low urinary output.
