Our City Commission approved funding, adding 2 more mental health counselors from Meridian to serve on GPD’s Co-Responders Teams (CRT). Started in 2018, the CRT program has 4 teams on duty (pairing 1 police officer w/1 clinician) who render mental health aid to neighbors in need.
GPD's Co-Responders Teams patrol the often convoluted intersection of law enforcement and mental health. @GainesvillePD @mbhci #LawEnforcement #mentalhealth . @sethj1998 reporting for @NewsGainesville .
