I called and shorted a bank to $0; their Board of Directors included Barney Frank. I also believe that extreme inequality is a threat to our Democracy.

@quasiantipodean So, all you have is anecdotal evidence. I provided you with empirical proof your argument is not true. Please cite a study.

@quasiantipodean You haven't shown me a single study like I showed you that claims what you are claiming.

It’s not “your property taxes” it’s just property taxes. Here is proof your point is empirically wrong. Houston ISD is the perfect example: “More than 40 percent of U.S. school districts are short-changing campuses with high concentrations of low-income children, according to a federal study released Wednesday.”

Robin Hood is a tale OF socioeconomic egalitarianism! Ninety I like you but I don’t think you can make the argument for the other side as well as your own side, which means you have a blind spot. I understand both sides well. Which is why I don’t use words like “rob” Once you pay a tax that money is not yours anymore it belongs to the People.

@AlyssaLogic People like to pretend they could’ve been good players in HS. I captained my team in HS and I don’t watch it anymore. If you’re actually good at football it will make your head hurt to watch games because you can’t stop analyzing what happened.

You stated “we rob the rich districts” What order meaning does rob have? Furthermore, you use an excerpt that quite literally says “Robyn Hood TAX” in the name. You are making the point that choosing how to appropriate public money is a tax that robs districts of money they otherwise would have if Texas didn’t have a system to ensure students have a more egalitarian education system. Making an argument and then saying you didn’t make the argument at all is intellectually dishonest. You’re making the inference that Title 1 schools somehow have far better schools than non-title 1 schools and that’s demonstrably false, both in testing, teacher qualifications and extracurricular activities.

You stated simply money is not theft problem and I responded with points that show money is in fact the problem. Additionally, you stated money is “stolen” from richer districts to pay for “lavish” education of poorer districts. My comment addressed both your points. Your claim it is a non-sequitur is intellectually dishonest.

@quasiantipodean That’s not true. Taxation is not theft, it’s the cost of living in a good society. Secondly, do you understand it means all children are not created equal? And have you thought of the implications of de facto segregation.

@quasiantipodean That’s not what I’m talking about. I’m talking about a kid’s level of education being determined by what zip code they live in.

@quasiantipodean Well if they don’t that would mean some kids will have a better education than others won’t it?

@quasiantipodean Okay but do you think states will spend the same on every student per capita?
