@realTrumpNewsX Even if you implement a flat tax, you will sadly still need an enforcement agency. Just a sad fact of life. Remember, the IRS was created by federal legislators (Congress) to simply collect the taxes that those federal legislators mandated by their legislation!

@RealPatrickWebb @LeadingReport You can't abolish the IRS if as a country, we allow governments to collect taxes. Some agency must be around to track, and account for those trillions in collected taxes, and then to distribute those taxes to, in this case, the US Treasury department.

The IRS computer systems are actually the state of the art. The problem is their applications running on those systems are back from the '50s '60s '70s and '80s those are the things that are antiquated in the IRS not the machines it's the software. I know this because I spent 30 years trying to help there as modernize their equipment that got done it's the applications that are very very slowly being rewritten.
