-Rep starts when BH gets downhill - can finish against help-side D or kick out
-On-ball D rotates to a perimeter player

@dekker
was able to score a total of 23 pts on 9/16 shooting (5/8 from 3pt 🎯). 16 of those mins came against the Wizards where he sunk 18 pts. It’s hard to NOT give a player a roster spot with #’s like this in such a short stint.

A lot of basketball seasons coming to an end around this time of year. I love that players want to get in the gym — However, I think this is a valuable time for a player to take a short stint away from the game of basketball. Crucial for mental health in the long run 🧠🏃🏻

Don’t take for granted the relationships you have with your players. Regardless if they show emotion or not, it’s YOUR responsibility to show you care.

I get goosebumps knowing that a kid got to make that shot — everyone who loves playing bball has dreamt that they’ve made that same shot for the win. I also hurt for the players that fought so hard & came up short.

AKA - don’t sub a player out if they’ve made a mistake. It’s your job to COACH them through it but ultimately let them handle it through adversity. It’s a tough pill to swallow, but it’s the ultimate truth in my opinion 🤷🏻♂️
It’s wild how often I say this during Academy workouts. This game is messy by nature: can you still win the possession?
We have to be more intentional about developing this with how we coach, & empowering players to play thru mistakes.

Never seen a tweet quite this accurate. They’re quick to go to the local gym/rec and play pickup but as soon as you say “6am” or “workout” they flake FAST 💨🤫
Many say they love 🏀..but most are referring to the fun of pickup, scoring 20+ in a game, or the notoriety it brings. Most aren’t talking about getting better after a bad game, getting up at 5am, missing vacations, putting up 500 made shots daily, watching hours of film, etc
