WE HAVE 19 COVERS THIS TIME, 8 ARE HOMAGES Deciding when to homage and when to go original with a cover is a challenge every publisher faces. Even major publishers often revisit their past. When the First Guard met the G-Men, an Avengers cover immediately came to mind. Eric and I were discussing the Youngblood cover, and without realizing it, Gilbert was already drawing one. Alan was inspired by a Harley Quinn cover and wanted to adapt it for Lynx, using the shadow of an all-new villain. Seeing a Deadpool cover instantly reminded me of Sgt. Flag. When backer hero Kaptain Polska returned as a guest star, a Superman cover served as a shortcut to help new readers understand the character’s role. With Taranis, the cover pays homage to George Pérez’s Godwheel, one of Eric's all-time favorites.

I first saw Stefani Rennee's Art on a piece he did of the classic Norse Thor. I saw the red hair and heard and thought "I've got to see what he can do with Taranis". This very cover is the cover I wanted to see him do. He has also done stunning covers with all our characters. Stefani was even a FINALISTS for BEST COVER ART in the H.E.R.O.I.C Awards for Sgt. Flag #3.

I've been a fan of Dakota Alexander for a long time. In 2021, we started discussing the possibility of him contributing to G-Man Comics. Last year, we explored the idea of a retro cover—something in the vein of Catman & Kitten meets Bronze Age Batman & Robin.
