Every fire department has that weirdo house Captain who’s been hoarding cleaning supplies and toilet paper in the ceiling tiles for years. This, my friends, is their moment. Embrace it
Gulfport Fire Chief tells us one of his firefighters fell off of the roof while fighting this house fire. He was conscious when medics arrived and was transported to Memorial Hospital. Fall was approx 10 ft.
Fire itself is contained. Cause is still under investigation, but preliminary observation points to an attic fire via the chimney. Damage is mostly contained to the living room and attic.

Fast water on a fire can save the most lives & most property & decrease the chances of a firefighter getting killed or injured.
If we’re not correctly & frequently training on the above, we’re letting down those expecting us to do our job.
Separate sleeping areas, Smart phones and Laptops are creating serious isolation issues in Firehouses. Members no longer seek the traditional common area to communicate with one another. Instead they are cultivating an imaginary environment
