Hitters & Hitting Coaches: Don't make it so hard. Most of the time, it's not a complex problem that is causing an undesired result. Keep it simple & overexaggerate your adjustment. Late? Be early Early? Be late On top of ball? Swing below Below the ball? Swing on top It is crazy how quickly we make adjustments when we think this way. Don't overcomplicate it! My favorite is when a hitter is popping balls up & my cue to them is hit a groundball & they touch a ball into the gap. Their face is priceless! Machine is 40ft away, spitting 65mph=97mph reaction time. My cue to hitters is swing & miss early & they hammer a ball right up the middle. Keep it simple!
