Our paper is out @SpringerNature @GabrielGiger and his colleagues from #VorholtLab developed a new method to create artificial bacterial-fungal endosymbiosis. Thank you to all involved for the fantastic collaboration! 👏 Proud to be part of this team!
We found a way to implant bacteria 🦠 in fungi 🍄and used it to induce artificial endosymbiosis. Read all about it in our newest research paper @Nature .

I only found this out now. I’m utterly in shock. Craig was a fantastic mentor and supervisor during my Masters in New Zealand. My thoughts go to his wife, children, friends and family. What a tragic loss!
Professor Craig Cary tragically passed away yesterday. A brilliant scientist who wrote many influential papers in both Antarctic and hydrothermal microbiology. An even greater mentor, who uplifted so many with his relentless enthusiasm, creativity, and encouragement. 1/2
