Very excited to share that UNFPA Rwandas Implementing Partners have been able to get VCAT-training ✨ This helps us reflect on our out personal attitudes and values.
We’re pleased to share that, in partnership with @UNFPARwanda, we have concluded a one-week Values Clarification and Attitude Transformation (VCAT) training aimed at enhancing partners' understanding and sensitivity toward comprehensive abortion care (CAC). Throughout the sessions, participants reflected on their own values and attitudes toward abortion, confronting personal biases and the societal pressures that can affect quality care. This approach emphasized the importance of delivering safe and stigma-free services—fundamental when supporting individuals facing unintended pregnancies. Interactive exercises, including role-playing and case studies, helped trainees build empathy and communication skills, particularly when engaging with individuals from various backgrounds and with complex needs. By the end of the training, participants were better prepared to contribute to strengthening a rights-based, inclusive healthcare environment that supports informed decision-making for all.
