In May 1977, Rick Ferkel won the super sprint but didn’t claim the $300 bounty—Linder’s engine blew in hot laps. The bounty grew to $600, and on June 4, Harry Kresser beat Linder! It returned for July 4th, but Kresser was the only one to beat Linder that season.

The Fremont Speedway Family extends sincere condolences to the family of Fred Wolff, a huge supporter of local racing for over 50 years. Fred owned/sponsored local cars and won in hobby stock in 1967. Thank you, Fred, for everything you did for the sport.

Spins, crashes, and flips are unfortunate aspects of racing. Fortunately, everyone in these photos emerged from their crashes unscathed.

It took a lot of manpower to get Fremont Speedway! Do you recognize anyone hand digging the trenches for the tiling in 1950?

Over time, things change yet stay the same. The first aerial photo is from 1958, and the second is from 2024. You can see how the grounds around the track have changed over the years but the covered grandstands remain a notable fixture of Fremont Speedway and the Fairgrounds.
