Do people believe this anymore? Do they believe it but the chase for the ever important 'scholarship' is just too enticing? Whatever the case, kids playing multiple sports seems to be going the way of the dinosaurs....extinct. What role are adults playing in this?

Fall sports are close to the end Did you use the sport or is the sport using you? Using the Sport: Team 1st mindset Building relationships Becoming unselfish Finding real joy Sport using you: Me 1st mindset Jealousy Identity is with "Twitter hype" good or bad Bitter & selfish

4 Options on Criticism. Is it... 1.) Accurate + Good Intentions 2.) Accurate + Bad Intentions 3.) Inaccurate + Good Intentions 4.) Inaccurate + Bad Intentions Good Intention = Attempting to Add Value Bad Intention = Driven by Ego, Fear, Greed

If you aren't training your student/athletes with how they should respond to situations that WILL pop up long before they need it, don't be surprised if they react instead.

E + R = O This is an important conversation to help athletes, students, & adults RESPOND to EVENTS in a way that moves them closer to the OUTCOMES they want. 🧵 Let's understand this better...

One of our goals at Free2Compete is to help young people today TAKE BACK and OWN their high school & college athletic experience. SPORTS isn't life, but it sure does create a great opportunity to DEVELOP SKILLS that will impact their life when used correctly!

As parents, at times we focus so much on outcomes that we lose sight of the true value of sports. "Catch those four guys!" "You have to make varsity." "You're not working hard enough." Jeremy Haselhorst shows us how we can do better.

What does a 'low maintenance' athlete look like to coaches? 1. Always give 100% in effort, energy, & focus 2. Highs & lows don't determine their mood. Mood is always steady 3. Takes care of grades 4. They're unconditional toward the team. Playing time/role does not change them

Don't be an "As long as..." type of teammate: *As long as I'm getting my playing time *As long as I'm getting the attention *As long as I'm healthy *As long as I'm meeting my goals *As long as it benefits me Great teammates are UNCONDITIONAL in their engagement!

Fall teams are at least 25% done with their seasons. Are these things sucking the life out of your team? *Selfishness *Inconsistency *Dip in Standards *Entitlement *"Mickey Mouse" Problems (childish behaviors) *Lack of Resiliency *Blaming, complaining, & defending poor actions

Can’t measure culture 👏 The #Raiders offense struggled early. After a Gardner Minshew pick late in Q2, Maxx Crosby picked him up. That belief helped the offense score on 4 straight second half drives, putting up 13 unanswered points to upset the Ravens.

The most common answers to a question we formed early in the week: "What is your main battle/struggle?" 1. Pressure/Expectations 2. Low Confidence/Mindset/In my Head/Am I Good Enough? 3. Comparison 4. Stuck in Past/Mistakes There are more, but this led to great conversation!
