Did you know that if you kill someone in Harris County, judges will release you on minimal bond and you can basically delay court dates for years. Justice delayed is justice denied. I’m waiting for some details and depending on them, I might be inclined to go public.

Our current electricity price is $.10 per kwh. Contract is almost up and the renewal rate is $.15, so a 50% increase. Even if I switch companies, the cheapest is around 14.3 cents. Just prepare in Texas for when your contract is up, will hit some people very hard.

Today would have been my dad’s 81st birthday. I spent my time during Palm Sunday service thinking about why someone chose to take his life in such a violent, unprovoked way. I’m in disbelief that this person is free on bond. Happy birthday, dad. I pray you are in a better place.

You notice the cirrus clouds blocking the sun? There is enough moisture at high altitude to form ice crystals. The hot exhaust from jet aircraft contains water vapor, it cools, forms a long cloud called a condensation trail. Why so many? You never notice absent these conditions.

The 7am update on Laura shows that it is a bit stronger and I expect it to be much stronger by tomorrow. The latest track is too close for comfort. The center should still pass just to our east, but storm surge and gusty winds are likely and coastal residents should head inland.

This purple blob represents an arctic outbreak that’s very likely to happen next week. We could see some teens and 20s. At the same time, a blizzard is possible for the northeast US. It’ll be interesting to see how it all comes together for the days leading up to Christmas.
