Myth: I don’t have the skills to support a young person. Fact: As a Supported Lodgings host you will have access to specific training and have an allocated social worker to support you with any challenges. 🧡

Myth: You can’t work if you are a Fostering Families Carer. Fact: You can have part time work alongside this, as long as it fits well with the hours you need to spend with the family. 💚💜

Myth: It’s just fostering older children. Fact: Supported Lodgings is a form of semi-independent accommodation where the young person has greater independence than those children in foster care, and the host is tasked with providing emotional and practical support🧡

Myth: You need a spare room to be a Fostering Families Carer. Fact: Being a Fostering Families Carer means that you will be working with the family in their own home, therefore you do not need to have a spare room. 💚 Find out more here:
