Supercell Anti-Bullying Youth Board
Hundreds of young people from across the UK applied to be part of the Supercell Anti-Bullying Youth Board and one of our Y8 Pupils has been selected to be one of ten who will form the 2018-19 Board.

We sold £2135.17 worth of books last week at our

Book Fair! Part of this success (£1440) resulted from the decision to create vouchers paid for by the school to make sure EVERYONE could buy a book. Much of this money will go to buying more books for the FVS Library
We are so proud of three of our Y10 pupils for winning the Geographical Association, UK wide, Worldwise Challenge 2019! They excelled in a weekend of scrutinised fieldwork tasks culminating in a presentation to judges from the Geographical Association.
We’re going to have plenty of time on our hands so why not take on the top bins challenge ⚽️🗑 who can beat Mr Mintoft’s effort!? Send us your best attempts

Today saw the presentation of the cheque from our Head Prefects to our chosen charity last year, the Sheffield Children's Hospital, for a massive £1,142.93. This was money raised from Forge Fest which our now Y11 Prefects helped to organise. (1)

Due to the extreme heat Forge Valley will close at 12.20 after P4 registration on Monday and Tuesday. A grab bag will be available for pupils on free school meals. Both staff and pupils can wear sensible relaxed dress, including shorts and non school uniform items all week.
Well done to Jakub Marek in Y12 who cycled Barnsley to Chesterfield in support of the million or more Ukrainian refugees crossing the Polish border. His scout group have raised £1000+ so far. Donate via their gofundme page here:

Forge Valley STEAM club had a fantastic day at the Big Bang Fair. A big well done to all students who showed their projects but especially to Lucien, Reuben, Robert, Nayagan, David and Luc who won best in Yorkshire for Product Design!
Friday 17th December will be a non-charity dress down day for pupils. Pupils will be dismissed from 12.15pm. For those in receipt of free school meals, a ‘grab bag’ will be available from the main office for collection as pupils leave.
Ahead of Armistice Day tomorrow, pupils at Forge including our Army and Royal Navy Cadets participated in a two minutes' silence today, as a moment of remembrance lest we forget the sacrifices and suffering of those who have lived through the horrors of war around the world.
We had Liz, Sarah and guide dog Hannah from Sheffield Royal Society for the Blind (SRSB) delivering VI Awareness sessions to our Y7 pupils as part of their unit of work on disability.
