Take a look at some more photos of the aftermath of Hurricane Maria in this presentation by photographer and International Cooperation program manager Gerald (Jerry) Bauer:
7 years ago today, Hurricane Maria struck Puerto Rico and severely impacted the island’s landscapes, including the Luquillo Experimental Forest. But the tropical forest is resilient to hurricanes, and it naturally recovered over time.

It’s a PVC shopping spree! 🛒 Here at TRACE we use PVC for everything. The possibilities are endless! IITF technicians Humberto Robles and Carlos Torrens cut these in half lengthwise. Want to guess what we used them for?🤨 Stay tuned to see what we did with all of it!

We attended a workshop on sap flow sensors & stem and leaf psychrometers from @ICT_Int_AU The @LUQLTER TEE has been instrumenting the plots with sap flow sensors in the main stem and roots to understand how #drought will affect water movement and quantity in trees.🌳 #research
