FS2 have had another visit from someone who helps others! Geoff from the @RNLI has been to talk to them about how they respond to emergencies. They loved finding out about the role of lifeguards and coastguards and even found out how to float in water, if they're in trouble!🛟

Year 4 had an English focused week last week! They finished their battle scene narratives, and started developing language for their recount. The children showed great pride when publishing and created lovely pieces of work. Well done Year 4! 🖊 #pride

Last week our Year 1 children visited Perlethorpe to enjoy a Victorian themed school day. This included a lesson in a Victorian style classroom using chalk boards, playing with Victorian toys and even dressing up as Victorian school children!👩🏫 #enjoyment @FlyingHighTrust

This week Nursery have been discussing two nurses from the past; Mary Seacole and Florence Nightingale. They discussed how they both helped soldiers in the past and the children made lamps to be like Florence Nightingale "The Lady of the Lamp". 🕯 #creativity

Reception have had a visit from another person who help others.👨⚕️🚑 A paramedic has been to talk to them about how they help others and respond to emergencies. They loved finding out about the role of a paramedic and even had a go at using some medical equipment! 🩺 #aspiration

Our KS1 children had a synagogue experience at school! They learnt how to say "Hello" in Hebrew, tried on a Kippah and Tallit and tried the Jewish food, Babka. All the children enjoyed this experience as part of their RE learning and displayed great responsibility! #RE #enjoyment

Last week, Reception had a visit from more people who help others! The police came to talk to them about how they help to keep others safe and protect our community. They loved trying on their police hats and listening to the police car siren! 👮♂️🚓 #aspiration #responsibility

This week in PE, Year 5 have been creating different counter balances on the apparatus. They showed great enjoyment and perseverance as they worked in pairs and should be very proud of their achievements!🤸♂️ #enjoyment #perseverance

Mrs Stafford took a few of our children to the @salvationarmy as part of our community work. They played different games, from Jenga to dominoes and completed jigsaws whilst enjoying a hot drink with the people who visit the lunch club.🎲🧩☕#kindness #enjoyment

Reception had a visit from Mansfield Fire Museum who explained how the fire service has changed over time. The children went in an old fire engine and compared this to the fire engine they went in the week before. What an amazing experience for our children! 🚒 #LifelongLearning

This week, Year 3 acted as news teams with different roles, reporting on an archaeological find. They then presented the 'reports' to each other as a class, all in preparation to write a report on a finding from our trip to Creswell Crags! 🗞️#confidence #creativity

This week Miss Elvin & Miss Helmsley took some children to a relaxed sports event where they could have a taster of some new sports including curling, tabletop cricket and boccia! They also had the opportunity to meet Paralympic champion Oliver Hynd! #confidence #perserverance

Year 5 discovered that they will be learning all about Anglo-Saxons & Vikings in History this term as they answer their new enquiry question 'Should we always share?' They painted Viking long boats created Viking shields and wrote their names using Anglo-Saxon runes. #creativity

Last week Reception launched their new enquiry 'How can we help others?' by coming to school dressed as somebody who helps others and the community. They loved showing each other their costumes and discussed how each person might help other people!👮🏻♀️👩🏼🏫🧑🏽🚒 #creativity #enjoyment

Year 4 had a visit from Part Take Theatre, to learn all about The Romans! They had a full day of Roman activities including, games, writing in Latin, guessing artefacts, dressing up as Romans and taking part in a battle formation! #TheRomanEmpire #creativity #enjoyment
