It was encouraging to hear the consensus that no one should need a food bank to survive. We look forward to playing our part in building cross-party support for the changes required to end the need for food banks.

A huge thanks to @wendychambLD, Chair of the APPG on Ending the Need for Food Banks, for hosting this event, as well as our volunteers for sharing their experiences, and the more than 45 Parliamentarians who were able to join us on the day.

We agree with the @CommonsWorkPen that making the HSF permanent would enable local authorities to plan their local crisis support provision effectively and help ensure no one has to turn to a food bank as the first port of call. We hope the UK Government listen and take action.
