@DiBonaNFL But if I understand from the contracts only Milton Williams of the big 4 counts toward comp pick formula.

@KurtBenkert Nothing says proper team building like taking 3 tight ends in rounds 2, 1 and 1. Or someone forgot they draft Mayer

@GregTompsett @Sammyw51686 @cincyplanner Thank you I am an actuary so the numbers game is my wheel house.

@cincyplanner @GregTompsett This was my understanding as well. So the amount in void years is being inflated by years that can’t happen because the contract would have already voided

@GregTompsett @cincyplanner Not everyone does though man. That lacks context if that’s the case.

@GregTompsett @cincyplanner Just for education then tell me what I’m missing to come to 390M. I calculate 242.848M on the yearly cap hit of those contracts. The only way we come to a number close to 390 is if you account for void years that will never hit.

@GregTompsett @cincyplanner Void years are different. Jalen hurts contract for instance contains 144 million in void years but if the Eagles cut him in 2027, they are only on the hook for the guaranteed 20.2 in dead cap and the remain void money is gone.

@nickkorte With voids doesnt the cap accelerates to the year the contracts voids correct? But the team is only responsible for the guaranteed portions so if the Eagles cut hurts in 2027 (not happening) but 144 in void money comes off at the expense of 20.2 mill in dead cap?

@K_Spee @DanSchneierNFL Lane Johnson contract that replaced an existing 3 year deal, with 30 mill guaranteed. void year money I assume you see is 7.5 mill in 2029 never hits. Bc in 2027 Eagles will take an 11.283 mill cap hit in dead money for a 37 yr old tackle. And save team 5.23 mill in cap space.

@DanSchneierNFL Additionally the same system forced the Eagles to be paying 29 million in dead cap to Fletcher cox and Jason kelce as they watched from the sidelines, but by all means complain that younger players have lower cap hits.

@K_Spee @DanSchneierNFL Why? Philly isn’t cheating any system! Anyone can do this and the Eagles are taking an extreme gamble if Jalen Hurts gets injured, they have no real way out and will be paying money in future years for nothing.

@DanSchneierNFL This is boo hoo analysis, in 2020, Philly faced a decreasing salary cap and because of void years, took the largest dead money cap hit at the time in history. (Carson Wentz) no one said hard cap em. Every team is able to do this. It’s not that hard to see the accounting.

@TFG_Football Seems like you failed to understand the headline situation. Absolutely agree it became a fad to replicate, but this is not unlike the many coaches that failed to replicate the Bill Walsh West Coast offense. If you labelled it as often duplicated hardly replicated. Is accurate.

@dmvkhii @thadIII2 @benbbaldwin Because like you said before I can’t assume that because they did happen.

@JimmyKempski @firstroundmock Should have added a couple more L’s since they need to hold onto one.
