@Nigelrefowens The new rule around uncontested line outs is a mess. Teams will start passing straight to 9 unless its changed.

@HawHillFarm The forestry issues need to be addressed urgently and people need to be helped as this is obviously an emergency for communities. The systemic issues also need to be addessed because these storms will only get worse & any weaknesses will be exposed at huge ongoing cost to society

@HawHillFarm Climate change is going to make the grid even more vulnerable and higher repair and maintainance costs are going to be passed onto the public one way or another. I think actual enforcement of county development plans has to be part of the solution.

@HawHillFarm The settlement patterns in rural Ireand are part of the problem when it comes to delivering any public service be it power, post or public transport. There is a reason we have planning guidlines and there are reasons they are ignored.

@HawHillFarm Im not insensitive to peoples suffering but the time of crisis is the only moment when these issues land. Every time there is a flood people say now isnt the time to raise the failures in the planning system that resulted in development on flood plains. Time pases & no one cares

@ciaranmullooly Hi Ciaran. Does your party advocate for investment in climate action and adaptation? What sorts of changes would you like to see to make rural energy systems become more resilient?

@HawHillFarm Is there any local politician in rural Roscommon talking about resilient / off grid energy systems? Thirty years into turf wars and we still haven't managed to develop local sustainable sources of wood to offset turf.

@HawHillFarm There are many tough decisions that need to be made and I fear the fact that they are tough will mean they wont be made. Itll be much easier for politicians to draw this out until people are distracted by something else.

@HawHillFarm The issue around setbacks would fall with the Forest Service but the reality is that many industry reps are pushing back against set backs as they reduce harvestable area.

Two purchasers are suing firms involved in the building of their harbour-side property which became unrentable after being flooded. Climate change is rapidly going to exacerbate the cost of living crisis though things like insurance & electricity bills

It's jarring to read forestry industry reps stating that Irish forestry is sustainable due to new environmental safeguards, while at the same time strongly opposing those same safeguards.
