If it stops at "aid or assistance" then that's fine. Would be interested to see any stats (doubt reliable ones exist) on US-based impact investing in SA. One wonders if those organisations will be willing to still do deals here. Hopefully, this is where it ends.

Yup, this only supports my long-standing view that Steenhuisen is a net negative for the DA. We have a spectacular talent deficit in the public sector in this country.
This excellent interview with Astral's Chris Schutte by @GTalevi is depressing in terms of how it highlights the sheer ineptitude of @jsteenhuisen as agriculture minister. "everyone was gung-ho because John Steenhuisen was appointed and he’s from the DA and he’s going to do something – but we can’t see what he’s done so far. In his 100-day report, it was so thin; he spoke about sugarcane farmers and sugar tax, but here we sit with the biggest contributor to the agri GDP and he’s not seeing us."
