Key Highlights from Fiji’s statement: 1️. Shift to “aid on budget,” with 50% of development assistance locally led by 2030; 2️. Clear timelines to achieve the 0.7% ODA target, restoring trust in the multilateral system through transparency; 3️. Ambitious climate finance beyond USD 300 billion, safeguarding the 1.5°C goal; 4️. Debt suspension triggered by climate shocks, enabling vulnerable economies to rebuild; 5️. Increased concessional financing based on vulnerability and simplified access to climate funds; 6️.
