FHS junior Audrey Koch has been selected as a KMOX/SEMO Student of Achievement. Audrey is one of thirty students to be honored. Students must have demonstrated outstanding achievements in academics, athletics, the arts, community service, and leadership.
SRO's Mike Cavaness & Jaymes Brookshire, and some of Festus's finest (including Chief Doug Wendel) stopped to support a lemonade stand hosted by Festus students in Bailey Station. It's supporting the family of Welker Vaugh, a 5th grader who died unexpectedly Sunday.

Today is National School Nurse Day. These women help keep our students safe and healthy at school. They bandage the boo-boos, wipe the snotty noses, make sure our students get the medications they require, and many other things that go unseen. Thank you!

The high school gained 3 doctors this weekend. Science teachers John Maddux, Karen Moffat and Thomas McFarland all received their doctorate in education degrees from Maryville University on Saturday. Congratulations Dr. Maddux, Dr. Moffat and Dr. McFarland.

FALSE ALARM at the High School. The fire alarm went off just before 11 this morning. We evacuated the building. The fire department determined it was a faulty sensor in the gym. There was NO fire. No one was in any danger.

is great with the students. On most Wednesdays he'll go to the elementary school and do a little magic for the students who have to come to school early on "late start Wednesdays." The kids get a kick out of his tricks.
Because of the uncertainty in the timing of tomorrow's winter storm that calls for snow, sleet and freezing rain and out of an abundance of caution, the Festus R-6 School district will NOT have school on Friday, January 17, 2020.

The Festus R-VI School District extends its condolences to the family of former coach Adam McCullough. McCullough passed away today. He has been living with Alzheimer’s Disease. Coach McCullough is seen here during our 2018 homecoming honoring former Football coaches.
Some middle school faculty and staff spent time after school yesterday to cook 3 Thanksgiving meals. Today, the delivered them to 3 families who need a helping hand this holiday season.
