There are no negatives about this. You may not care for Morgan's cover, but sharing great music and writers with new people is never a bad thing. It also makes me think radio is underestimating the willingness of its audience to appreciate deeper material.
If you like Wallen's cover of "Cover Me Up" better than Isbell's... whatever. If you legitimately think Wallen has a better voice, you're a child who lacks discernment. Go eat your dinosaur nuggies.
Farewell to a writer who could tear your heart out with a simple but devastating line or tear up your eyes from laughing at the ridiculousness of humanity, often in the same song. Thanks for the music Mr. Prine.
Them: Garth Brooks ruined mainstream country music
Me, a pretend intellectual: No, the Telecommunications Act of 1996 and 9/11 ruined mainstream country music.
Charlie, along with Bruce and Jack Ingram, were my proper introduction to Texas music with their Unleashed Live, and I never looked back. I always loved his humor and the story telling was second to none. “Loving County” is a standout in a career full of pure gold. This hurts.
Most remembrances will focus on Toby’s rah-rah America songs, but there was so much more to him. His 90s output was so consistent and strong, but there were always gems in the modern stuff too, right up till the end. I wasn’t a fan of everything but he’s a legend who I’ll miss.
I don’t have any issue with Beyoncé, just provably false narratives like this. The genre is as big as it’s been since Garth, even before Cowboy Carter.
Besides Turnpike (and Zach Bryan which is a given), who do you want a new album from in 2023?
I'll go first: Ruston Kelly, Lori McKenna, Shane Smith & The Saints.
I still get irrationally annoyed at the knee jerk reactions to the mention of the Dixie Chicks. If you don't enjoy their music, fine, but there is not a single artist I stopped listening to solely based on their politics.

Hey band/singer I love! You have expressed a political opinion opposite of mine, and even though you’ve always felt that way and even sang about it (I don’t pay attention to lyrics) and I just happened to only see this one tweet, I suddenly do not enjoy your music. Goodbye.
Love when I have a semi-viral tweet about the state of mainstream country and people reply that I should check out Tyler Childers or Sturgill or whoever. Okay.
I sincerely pray Evan Felker can overcome his demons. He, his friends, and his family deserve it. I want one of the strongest writers of this generation to be healthy and stick around.
Regardless of your feelings on his political outspokenness, Charlie Daniels is a true legend of country music. His impact goes much much deeper than "The Devil Went Down to Georgia" and twitter rants. R.I.P.
I remember a lot of discussions about country music needing a Nirvana to break down the walls. Through the years we’ve thought Jamey Johnson, Childers, or Sturgill was the one. That it’s finally kinda happening with an artist I’m not as invested in (Zach) is cool with me.
You can't really boycott Garth. He's already rich, his music isn't available for streaming anywhere, and you probably weren't going to his concert anyway.
