P6B spent time making cards to thank Mrs McGowan for repairing our parachute in her own time! 🪂 💕

In P1 we were active in gym with some team games and for many it was their first time playing parachute games! 🪂 ⚽️⚾️

P7 created wellbeing fortune tellers for our procedure writing this morning. We decorated our fortune tellers with different exercises, break breaks and regulation strategies. We really enjoyed making these and sharing them around the class.📝

During writing today P6B used the 5 ways to wellbeing focus ‘learn’ as a stimulus to create stories about the importance of learning and the value of education. Here are some of the finished pieces. ✏️ ⭐️

P6B have been learning about how our emotions can influence our behaviour and how certain triggers can make emotions feel very intense. We discussed the advice we would give to Eve to help regulate her emotions so that Wall-E does not feel upset by her negative choices. ✨ 🤖

P2A enjoyed playing games with the high school leaders and learning how we understand our own and recognise other people’s emotions using the cogs. We enjoyed watching a clip from Toy Story and made notes about why Woody was feeling jealous and how to help him regulate! ✨

P3 have been learning about resilience today. We learned about BOUNCE back and discussed how using our habits and the meta-skill adapt can help us become more resilient. We made resilient mini-me people to demonstrate that we can bounce back from tricky situations. ✨

Fair Isle are celebrating Children's Mental Health Week by learning about the Five Ways to Wellbeing. Giving is one of the ways we can improve our wellbeing so we are 'Dressing to Express' on Friday to raise money for Place2Be. Primary Three made posters to let everyone know.

P1A connected with Mrs McDonald and designed an “I wish my teacher knew” box. The children are going to put their name in the box if they have a worry. Mrs McDonald will then connect with them. 🗃️ 🌺 💕

P1/2 connected today by connecting with primary 3 children. When they visited, both classes got to know each other by the primary 3 pupils asking p1/2 pupils some questions from their own DIY fortune tellers. 👭👬

In P6B we enjoyed spending time talking about the meaning of being able to connect with ourselves and with others. Some brilliant points were made about connecting with ourselves first in a positive way, helps to create positive connections with others. 🗣️ 🤝
